This Spring, the Colin Currie Group returns to Japan, performing concerts at Tokyo Opera City and the Nagakute Cultural Center. In continuation of the group’s long standing relationship with Tokyo Opera City, who also co-commissioned Traveler’s Prayer, these concerts are held in the prestigious Takemitsu Memorial Hall on the 21st and 22nd April. Along with Synergy Vocals, CCG performs Music for 18 Musicians, which they recently recorded at Abbey Road Studios, to be released on Colin Currie Records, also on 21st April. Other pieces featured in these concerts include Double Sextet and Traveler's Prayer, marking its Japanese debut.
The Colin Currie Group then perform as a sextet at the Nagakute Cultural Center House Forest Hall on 26th April, which will include Music for pieces of Wood, Piano Phase, Mallet Quartet, Drumming Part 1, and Sextet.
