Colin Currie Curates

To end his busy series of November concerts, Colin returns to the Southbank Centre for the second time this season to perform two new works with the Philharmonia Orchestra on 24th November. The first is a new concerto for percussion and orchestra entitled Staggered Nocturne. This piece was composed by the award-winning British composer Luke Bedford and commissioned by the Philharmonia for this performance which marks its world premiere.

Following on from this work is French composer Philippe Hurel’s Quartre variations for percussion and ensemble. It initially centres itself around a solo vibraphone which gradually becomes enveloped by rhythmic passages from the ensemble, creating an ‘energetic soundscape’.

The concert begins at 6pm and is free of charge. For more information and to book your free ticket, click here.
