Concerts with the North Carolina Symphony Orchestra

Colin performs three concerts with the North Carolina Symphony in North Carolina, first at the Wilson Center on 28th April and then at the Meymandi Concert Hall on 29th and 30th April. Conducted by Ruth Reinhardt, the concert features Dvořák’s “Polonaise” from the opera, Rusalka, Rimsky-Korsakov's “Scheherazade'' and last but not least, American composer Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto. This one-movement concerto for solo percussion and orchestra was jointly commissioned by the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The piece was composed in 2005 for Colin to whom the concerto was also dedicated, and it won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Classical Contemporary Composition.
