In its 5th Anniversary, Messums Wiltshire welcomes The Bridgepoint Ensemble to its multi-purpose gallery and arts center on September 17th at 7pm. Colin performs with the ensemble for a program titled “Out of the Woods” centering on the re-emerging of live performances. Pieces include Schubert’s “Quartettsatz” and Rolf Wallin’s “Realismos Mágicos” for solo marimba with Colin as the featured soloist. The evening also showcases Steve Martland’s “Starry Night”, a piece of significance for Colin as it was composed by his great friend who passed away in 2013. Ever since, Colin has been at the forefront of championing Steve’s music from giving the world premiere of “Starry Night” in the Netherlands to now having the honor of performing the piece at Messums Wiltshire. Rounding out the ensemble are Sarah Sexton (violin), Beatrice Phillips (violin), Judith Busbridge (viola), and Sarah McMahon (cello). Gain insight from the musicians as they discuss their knowledge of each piece and help celebrate the return of live performances!
