After their very well-received performance of Xenakis at the Southbank centre last month, which was praised by Bachtrack as “an experience of overwhelming proportions that will leave an indelible mark of pure joy on the sizeable crowd which sat enraptured in the Queen Elizabeth Hall”, the Colin Currie Group embark on a series of concerts in the US, in celebration of Steve Reich. Performing a programme of Reich’s most beloved works, Tehillim, Music for 18 Musicians, and the US premiere of Traveler's Prayer, which span five decades, the group performs their first concert at Carnegie Hall on 1st November which co-commissioned Traveler's Prayer, alongwith Zellberbach/Berkley. Their second concert takes place on 3rd November at the Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley, California, marking part of Cal Performances’ Illuminations: “Human and Machine”.
